Sandy sandy sand

Day 112 10/2
Mileage 10
Camped at Manter Creek

Back on the trail. Lots of sand. While finishing up preparations to leave, we met Adrien, a Parisian who is hurrying to finish by the 27th. We hiked with him for a while, after which we all ate together and he continued on. It's definitely desert, now. We were dodging cacti and trudging through ankle deep sand most of the day. The change of scenery is exciting, though. As the sun went down, we heard a bunch of birds begin singing, a "dusk chorus", Kyle informs me. Almost stepped on a rattlesnake today! Oops.
